Surrounded by the beautiful rolling hills of northern Cattaraugus County, one hour south of Buffalo, HOG-SHED STUDIO POTTERY in Otto, NY, is a wonderful destination for pottery lovers! Each season hundreds of satisfied customers return to add to their collections of original handmade stoneware pottery.

Michael and Elliott Hutten have been producing functional and decorative stoneware since 1982. Working by hand with a potter's wheel, slab roller and simple tools, Elliott makes each piece with consistency and craftsmanship.

Michael is responsible for firing the propane kiln which reaches temperatures of nearly 2400 degrees F. During the firing process the gases produce spontaneous glaze effects which contribute to the unique quality of each piece.

Our inventory of finished work is attractively displayed in the studio showroom and is available for retail sale. We offer a wide variety of functional ware including mugs, bowls, pitchers, vases, casseroles, platters, bird feeders and more. When used according to our directions, the high quality stoneware can be placed safely in the oven, dishwasher and microwave. All glazes mixed at HOG SHED STUDIO are lead-free, non-toxic and safe for use with all foods.

Sculptural stoneware vessels and "Paintings in Clay" wall pieces, as well as one-of-a-kind RAKU, also capture the attention of discriminating art enthusiasts.
